Day 4 - Further Into The Scrub We Go....

Looking at the Takarakka tracks guide, Moss Garden and The Amphitheatre looked doable at 3.7Km in and same return - piece of cake right? Wrong...........Parked the car at the Visitors' Centre and headed off with backpack, munchies, and water.
We trekked into the 'main track' to the Moss Garden turn off, and I went it alone to Moss Garden as the stairs and narrow rock steps were a little daunting. Mum waited at the turn off.
15mins in and out, 5 mins there - was good viewing, but not spectacular - worth the walk in.
Back to the turn off, and headed along the track another 1Km to the turn off for the Amphitheatre. Due to the terrain, Mum waited at the turn off while I went in. Once again rather arduous track, narrow, and more ladders at the end to enter the Amphitheatre via a narrow fissure in the rock face. What was inside was simply stunning! I've never seen or experienced anything like it. Surrounded on four sides, vertical sandstone worn by the tides of time and wind - amazing.
Now the hard part - trekking the 3.7Km back to the Visitors' Centre......we were absolutely knackered when we got back - I've never been so glad to see 'Roger'. Back at camp, cocktail hour, tea, movie, and bed - slept like logs.
