Day 9 - Emerald

Leaving Longreach after 4 great nights, we headed off to Emerald - our stepping stone from the Dust to the Dunes...........backtracking along the Capricorn Highway through familiar towns. We arrived in Emerald to a great park, with some of the nicest management we came across. Nothing was too much trouble, and they genuinely looked happy and were enjoying looking after all the guests checking in - there was a queue of about 5 vans waiting to check in - hadn't experienced that anywhere else!

We found our site, set up, and were advised of a one hour open air concert by Errol Gray (yes, nickname Earl!), singing some very aussie self written songs. Many park visitors brought chairs, wine, beers and snacks and made themselves comfortable. It was great! Poor Errol can't do his normal gigs during COVID, pretty tough times. I bought his USB for $50 with all 139 songs, so hopefully that'll help a little.

We were only there one night, but it was a great experience. Fish and chips from the Yabby Trap was a fitting end to the night - Pensioners Pack - 4 x fish, 6 x sea scollops, shed load of fresh golden chips - the ideal health pack!
